We all want our weddings to be memorable, fun, and exciting. However, at a certain point everything seems to blend together and some of that “uniqueness” can be lost. Here are three easy ideas to add a special something to your wedding!
1. Have your last dance just to yourselves!
This is my absolute favorite idea as a photographer, and one of my couples actually did this idea and the pictures were fantastic. Everyone loves a good first dance picture, but a beautiful and heartfelt last dance of the night is the cherry on top of an amazing reception. This works best when guests are lining up for a sendoff (hello sparklers or poppers) with the help of your reception staff or planner. The reception venue is closed to everyone except the couple and your photographer and videographer. We capture some truly amazing, sentimental, sweet images of just the two of you closing out your evening as husband and wife.
2. Use wine bottles or boxes as your table numbers
Make wine bottles with just the table number and label and leave markers on the table for guests to write a beautiful message to the happy couple on that anniversary! This serves so many purposes – it fills time while guests are waiting to be served or called to eat, and allows guests to participate in a guestbook that wouldn’t otherwise take the time to write a detailed message. It also lets you celebrate your wedding on every anniversary with beautiful memories of those you loved most on your special day.
3. Contract a company to install an antique phone at your reception
Companies like FeteFone or @EchoPhone.co on TikTok have an amazing idea for your guestbook – have guests leave a voicemail at your reception that you can treasure for years and years. Have them leave advice, say how much they love you – truly whatever you want. What a unique and memorable experience and keepsake for both the guests and couple!
